Elon Musk, beware. He’s not “Zuckin around.”
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed off his new blue belt in jiu-jitsu — the latest achievement for the amateur martial artist as he prepares for a possible cage match with his tech rival.
The 39-year-old Zuckerberg posted an image on his Instagram page over the weekend of him wearing the blue belt, the next belt color above the beginner-level white belt.
Zuckerberg is seen standing next to Dave Camarillo, a 46-year-old martial artist who holds a black belt in judo as well as Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
“Congrats @davecamarillo on your 5th degree black belt,” Zuckerberg wrote in the Instagram post, which generated more than 196,000 likes as of Monday.
“You’re a great coach and I’ve learned so much about fighting and life from training with you.”
Zuckerberg wrote that he was “honored to be promoted to compete at blue belt” for the San Jose jiu-jitsu academy where he trains.
The reaction to the Instagram post was largely positive.
“Zuck aint zuckin around,” one Instagram user wrote.
“Elon is in trouble,” wrote another poster on Instagram.
In May, Zuckerberg won his first amateur jiu-jitsu tournament.
Last month, Musk tweeted that he would be “up for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg, who responded by tweeting: “Send me location.”
Shortly afterward, Musk was seen in a photo training with Lex Friedman, a podcaster who holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
The prospect of a Musk-Zuckerberg cage match has been hyped by Dana White, the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship.
While it’s still unclear if the match will happen, Musk and Zuckerberg have been locked in battle on the digital front.
Musk, who has been busy rebranding Twitter as “X,” has threatened to sue Zuckerberg’s company over alleged intellectual property theft related to the rollout of the “Twitter killer” app Threads.
